Supporting the supporters

When someone you love is struggling with suicidal thoughts, you want to help - but who supports you?

At STS Community, we understand that caring for a loved one experiencing suicidal ideation can leave you feeling overwhelmed, frightened, and alone. While most resources focus on those in crisis, we recognise that the people providing support—family members, friends, partners—also need guidance, understanding, and a safe space to process their own experiences

Our Mission

At STS Community, we're committed to filling the critical gap in support for those who are caring for loved ones with suicidal thoughts and ideation. Our mission encompasses both immediate support and long-term systemic change.

Provide Direct Support

We offer a safe, understanding community for anyone supporting a loved one through suicidal ideation. Whether you're a parent, partner, sibling, or friend, you'll find people who truly understand what you're going through and resources tailored to your unique challenges.

Connect You with Professional Resources

We provide clear, accessible information about professional counselling services and support resources available in your area. Because while peer support is invaluable, professional guidance is often essential for both you and your loved one.

Advocacy in Schools

We're working to raise awareness that children and young people living with family members who have suicidal ideation need specialised, professional on-site counselling support. A well-meaning teacher or school staff member isn't enough—these young people deserve trained mental health professionals who understand their specific trauma and needs.

Healthcare System Reform

We advocate for GPs and healthcare providers to be more proactive in recognis ing and supporting patients who are caring for loved ones with mental health challenges. The supporter's wellbeing directly impacts their ability to help—it should be part of every treatment plan.

Our Vision

A world where no one has to support a loved one through suicidal ideation without proper resources, understanding, and care for their own wellbeing.
